The DURIOS E-Series

The DURIOS E8 Ultra UMPC is a full-ruggedized mini Tablet-PC for outdoor applications. Its metal housing is completely sealed against spill water and dust. The small size of 11.0" x 7.2" x 1.2" and the low weight of 2.9lbs (1.3kg) only rates the DURIOS E8 Ultra as UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC).

Inside the full-ruggedized UMPC DURIOS E8 Ultra works the new Intel McCaslin A110 processor especially designed for UMPs. The McCaslin supplies sufficient CPU performance for almost all applications in the field with a very low level of power consumption. The DURIOS E8 Ultra has one battery which keeps the UMPC up to 5hrs alive. The new 8.4" SVGA sunlight readable display is a real show-piece. Contrary to the hitherto existing CCFL backlights the new display uses high bright LEDs which supply more than 1,000 NITS at a very low level of power consumption.

The full-ruggedized UMPC is available with touch screen or digitizer pen. The later version already has a sunlight readable display and it comes with Windows XP Tablet Edition installed. The touch screen version can be ordered with standard display or sunlight readable display. Other useful options for the field are HSDPA WWAN modem and GPS receiver.

Up to 1GB of RAM, up to 100GB HDD 1.8" optionally avalable with 32GB Solid State Drive (SSD), USB 2.0, Gigabit LAN, WLAN 3945 b/g, Bluetooth, PCMCIA slot and Sound. Options: HSDPA modem and GPS receiver.
