The C5 by Motion Computing

Clinical Assistant Tablet PC

The Motion C5 Pro Tablet PC is the result of cooperation between Intel Corp. and Motion Computing. The goal of this project was to create a new Tablet PC which fulfills the requirements in the health care market better than the already existing Tablet PCs. In the past there were normal Tablet PCs which had been used in the health care market.

After a short run-in period it turned out that in a hospital there were other features needed to which a normal Tablet PC cannot live up. Consequently Intel and Motion Computing decided to start the development of Tablet PCs that could perform better in a hospital than the hitherto existing Tablet PCs.

The new Tablet PC needed to be rugeddized, needed to be light in weight, needed to have good handling, needed to be easy to sanitize and must have ports like Bluetooth, WLAN with secure connection, Barcode Scanner and RFID Scanner integrated. A built in CCD camera to take images of wounds was also indispensible. The result is the Motion C5 Pro Tablet PC.

Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 1,06GHz CPU , 1GB of RAM up to 2GB of RAM, 1.8" HDD with 80GB or 64GB SSD. WLAN, Bluetooth, DC power-in and docking cradle port. Protection class IP54 and all certificates for medical products.
